Green Energy Ohio (GEO) welcomes the new Green Energy Ohio Tour for 2011! So Far Two Mahoning Valley Sites are featured.
Each October Ohiocelebrates the green energy industry in a statewide event that enlightens consumers about the developing marketplace. For the last 11 years, Green Energy Ohio (GEO) provides market information to the public on the first weekend in October to exhibit the industry across the state.
This year the “Ohio Solar Tour” name has been changed to the “Green Energy Ohio Tour” to more accurately describe the tour that features not only solar, but tour sites with wind, energy efficiency, biomass and other green energy technologies. This FREE statewide event on October 1 & 2 provides the unique opportunity for people to visit hundreds of Open House Sites and talk with owners living and working with clean energy technologies.

Here at the Lordstown Apple Cider Festival, September 16,17 and 18, you can watch as experts turn apples into fresh, sweet apple cider. This annual fall event also features a craft and flower show; musical entertainment; mechanical rides and carnival games; and a variety of food available. Also don’t miss the 5K run on Sunday. Admission and parking are free.
The Hartford Apple Festival, a long time tradition in Hartford, Ohio, returns the weekend of September 16,17,and 18. It has food and rides, parades and games, crafts, history, apple peeling and pie eating contests and apples, apples, apples. Go join the fun and share a bit of Hartford History! We’re told this years apples couldn’t be better!

According to RE/MAX Valley Real Estate’s Mahoning Valley Housing Report (MVHR) for July, single family residential sales (not seasonally adjusted) remain in the doldrums, falling 11.7 percent from 308 units in June to just 272 in July. However, sales this month did mark nearly a ten percent rise over July of 2010. The seasonally adjusted, month over month comparison of closed transactions dropped again for the 41st consecutive month.
Successful volunteer efforts at Mosquito Lake State Park were recognized with the Volunteer Park of the Year Award for 2010, according to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). 
According to RE/MAX Valley Real Estate’s Mahoning Valley Housing Report (MVHR) for March, single family residential closed transactions were up (0.5 percent) for the second consecutive month, but year over year comparison of closed transactions continues it’s steady, 37 month long decline. Home prices also fell rather sharply for the second straight month, as the median price of a home in the Valley fell 1.3 percent. On a second positive note, our measure of the annual absorption rate remained unchanged in March after edging up only slightly in February.
